KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL DONATES NEW "FREE AS A BUTTERFLY" FILM
The First California Western Monarch Day on February 5th 2005 was recognized at the Pismo State Beach State Park, Pismo Beach, California by the Pismo Beach, Chapter of Kiwanis Internationals donation for the new " Free As A Butterfly " film which features the California Western Monarch Butterflies major habitats and former Senator Bruce McPherson (current California Secretary of State ) presenting Ms Boone with the new California Western Monarch Day Bill. "The Kiwanis donation is greatly appreciated and will help to bring the message of the existence of the fantastic Western Monarchs major habitats on Californias Coast to all of the general public. The monarchs over-winter six months of each year from October-March. The new film will give students an opportunity to view the huge magnificent orange and black clusters of monarchs and encourage a field trips to a habitat " Ms. Boone stated. The film is a part of Ms. Boones "Official Free As A Butterfly " Monarch Program & Enviro-Pak by Images Press "; an educational out-reach program available by donation. The Paks are gifted to the thousands of students in California and across the US for their participation and contributions to Western Monarch butterfly awareness, preservation, studies, annual celebration of the Western monarchs return migration to the west coast habitats. "Students " are helping with the very important job of planting milkweed plants, a host plant, essential to the survival of the monarch migration so we can forever experience the " Miracle return " to California's major over-wintering habitats " said Boone.
