Congratulating Sheila Boone is DAR Regent, Thelma Hayes of the DAR La Cuesta Chapter, San Luis Obispo, California. Boone was awarded the National Conservation Medal and Environmental Award in Recognition for Outstanding Achievement for Environmental Awareness on March 25, 2005. Both awards are in recognition of the Preservation of the Natural Resources of Our Country, Its Soils, Minerals, Forests, Waters and Wildlife.

* Ms. Boone submitted the resolution, dedicated to educators, students & orgs. for a California Western Monarch Day Bill to the California Legislative Director, James Jack in November 03. The Bill was introduced by former California Senator and current California Secretary of State, Bruce McPherson. The California Western Monarch Day Bill passed the Ca Senate and Assembly unanimously on April 04. Ms. Boone was Nominated for the medal and award by NSDAR California State Regent, Nancy Alexander. The NSDAR has 3,000 chapters world-wide.
